We are looking for a CNC Machine Operator (Wood - Carpentry) to work in the United Kingdom.
JOB PURPOSE
You will be responsible for the operation and set up of CNC and Edge bander machines, including inspection and quality checks. You will look after all preventative maintenance for your machine, working closely with engineering and Machine Shop Team Leader to ensure machine is running at maximum efficiency.
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Operation of machinery, including inspections and quality checks
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas and machinery
- Ensuring you adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures
Machinery
Beam Saw / Angleplant Saw (HOMAG)
- Operation of CNC machinery
- Selecting pre-optimised programmes
- Following a pre-scheduled workload to meet deadlines
- Loading and offloading the machine
- Cutting MFC and MDF product
- Changing blades as and when required through visual quality checks
- Occasionally cutting product manually
Single-sided / Double-sided Edge-banding machine – using PUR glue (HOMAG)
- Operation of CNC machinery
- Selecting pre-optimised programmes to suit all board types
- Ability to adjust programmes as and when required
- Selecting multiple thickness of edge tape
- Responsible for machine performance
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of using CNC woodwork machines in the Kitchen, Bedroom and Bathroom (KBB) / furniture industry
- Previous working experience using HOMAG, SCM or Biesse machines.
- Engineering experience of HOMAG machinery.
- Specific knowledge in panel processing
- Ability to understand instructions, job sheets, blueprints, drawings and diagrams
- Experience in total machine maintenance
- Ability to change tools
