Product Safety Manager
As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.

As the largest chemicals supplier to the automotive industry, BASF will establish a separate mobile emissions catalyst, automotive catalysts recycling, and associated precious metal services entity. The new entity will be named BASF Environmental Catalysts and Metals Services (ECMS0. The new standalone structure will operate globally and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.
As a Product Safety Manager, you create chemistry by…
- Ensuring compliance of a defined portfolio of ECMS materials with global product safety regulations including but not limited to hazard classification or nanomaterials regulations.
- Creating and maintaining product safety master data and safety data sheets for a defined portfolio of materials globally.
- Tracking global relevant Product Safety regulations
- Supporting and advising business units with regards to global product safety.
- Performing GHS classifications, creating and maintaining SDSs and GHS label language
- Managing global master data and product safety tasks and projects.
- Strategically guiding the ECMS business regarding Product Safety relevant issues
- Representing ECMS in relevant product safety and regulatory communities.
This individual can be located at any BASF Environmental Catalysts and Metals Services location.
Qualifications – NOTE: Not all positions are eligible for cross-regional relocation/work authorization. Cross regional is defined as movement between countries (e.g. Canada to U.S.).
Your formula for success…
- Having a bachelor’s degree or higher in natural sciences, preferably in chemistry
- Demonstrated 6 - 10 years in the EHS field, with specific expertise in the GHS and hazard classifications as well as SAP Master Data Systems
- Possessing solid knowledge of global chemicals management regulations and Product Safety regulations in specific regions, as applicable
- Ability to lead a global team
- Being able to collaborate for achievement, communicate effectively and embrace diversity
